how to control your temper in occupation

Scream at the boss? Snap at a colleague? Throw your cell phone into your computer monitor?

In most cases anger isn't an illness but a normal human emotion that causes problems when it flares too hot, too often. People can learn to manage their anger with practical skills.

Psychologists believe that individual talk therapy is the most effective for anger problems. Anger doesn't occur by itself. It's nested and embedded with a lot of other emotions -- sadness, grief, shame. Angry people want to talk, given the opportunity.

Tips to Help Keep A Temper in Check

Calculate what your anger is costing you. Many people with anger problems think anger gives them an edge, and establishes superiority. Instead, you just look like an idiot.。

Be aware of how you talk to yourself. If you keep saying how awful this is and making yourself feel alike a victim, you will get more angry.
If you feel a blowup coming on, give yourself a time-out before acting on it. Wait 15 minutes before you say something, or an hour before you send an email. Keep your options open. If it's not going to be important in an hour, then let it go. It's not worth getting angry about.
Keep an "anger log" to monitor what makes you angry. Learn to identify and avoid your triggers.

Don't ruminate on past affronts or injustices.

Get physical, without fists. When your primitive brain senses a threat, it sets off the 'fight or flight' cascade of hormones. Opt for flight instead of fight and burn off the extra adrenaline and cortisol with exercise. Even a brisk walk will help calm you down.

Reframe the situation. Instead of seeing every inconvenience or frustration as a personal affront, imagine a benign explanation.

Find a constructive solution to the issue at hand. Ask yourself: What do I need to be okay right now? That shifts the focus from how the other person needs to be punished to how I need to respond in a healthy way.

Rush on to recreate royal wedding dress

The Faviana design house in New York specializes in reproducing "hit" dresses worn at events such as the Oscars and selling them at a fraction of the cost of the original.
On Friday morning, its team of designers awoke early and began sketching the dress worn by Catherine, the new Duchess of Cambridge, at her wedding to Prince William in London.
One of Faviana's most successful dresses to date is their interpretation of Chelsea Clinton's wedding dress.
They hope that the dress worn by the Duchess of Cambridge will become their best-selling bridal dress.
Faviana plans to sell the reproduction dresses for between 15-hundred and 2-thousand US dollars.

Another nuclear disaster possible in Japan

An independent advisor to the Japanese government warns that the Fukushima nuclear plant still carries the risk of major disaster if another large earthquake or tsunami strikes. He also criticized the government's slow reaction after the quake.
Special Member of Japan Atomic Energy Commission, Shigeharu Aoyama, conducted a field investigation in the quake-stricken plant last Friday.
He visited the Emergency Operations Room inside the Earthquake Proof building of the plant where workers are toiling round the clock to contain the leak.
They were seen removing gloves, masks and protective clothing which had been exposed to high levels of radiation and putting them into a vinyl bag before entering the room.
The Head of the Nuclear Power Plant Operations said the nuclear reactor looked like it was stabilizing for now, but the danger is far from over.
Aoyama also warned that the 9.1 magnitude Sumatra earthquake of 2004 had an 8.6 magnitude aftershock three months later, the same could happen here in Japan.
He stressed the government is overlooking the dangers.
Shigeharu Aoyama, Special Member of Japan Atomic Energy Commission, said, "A big earthquake can strike at any time and we are in the midst of that danger. But we are too focused on how to cool the reactor, and how to treat the highly radioactive water. Although we have 1,500 people working on the problems, we have not built an embankment."
Aoyama also criticized the government's slow speed in reacting to the quake, saying the nuclear disaster could have been mitigated if Japan had taken swift action, such as letting the United States help in the initial stages.
Shigeharu Aoyama, Special Member of Japan Atomic Energy Commission, said, "I'm not saying the Japanese people don't trust the government, but they know that the government is trying to save its own neck, and behaving dishonestly towards its people."
The Fukushima Daiichi complex started leaking high-levels of radiation following the earthquake and tsunami more than six weeks ago.
The government has set up a 20 kilometer evacuation zone around it, forcing inhabitants to leave. People in the 30 kilometer exclusion zone have been advised to leave within the month.
