the moment

The moment, the shameful moment
When the wicked airplanes crashed
Into the World Trade Center
And the magnificent buildings collapsed.

The moment, the sorrowful moment
When thousands of precious lives
Were very cruelly extinguished,
Leaving so many families bereft.

The moment, the ruthless moment
When the crazy wrong thought
Struck into the morbid foolish mind
To use commercial planes as missiles.

The moment, the grievous moment
When they gave up their futile lives
To murder thousands of the innocent.
But for what?  For what?!

The moment, the last sad moment
When the beloved kissed good-bye
With the fond hope to see the face again,
But never, never, ever again.

The moment, the mournful moment
When so many hearts were broken,
So many eyes were weeping dry.
Oh, God, dost Thou behold on high?

The moment, it's the moment
To curb the stupid actions with reason.
Why not live and let live
In rightful peace and love?

an amazing letter

It took more than 60 years, but the final letter of a soldier killed in World War II finally made it home.
Gary Mathis bought a box of old newspapers at a yard sale in Kansas, and discovered the letter inside a newspaper from 1915. The letter's envelope has military post office markings dated March 6, 1944.
It was addressed to W.J. Krotz of nearby Poole, about 120 miles west of Lincoln.
Mathis placed an announcement and picture of the letter in the Ravenna News, hoping someone might know the family.
Louise Kisling said she heard about her brother's letter through word of mouth. Clinton Krotz, an infantry soldier in Italy during the war, was killed in action on May 8, 1944. The letter was the last one he sent home.
In the letter, her brother thanked his parents for a wristwatch they had sent as a birthday gift, as well as some candy and nuts.
Kisling said her only disappointment was that her parents never got the chance to see the letter. An envelope within the letter was postmarked by the Poole post office, Kisling said. She was not sure how it ended up in Kansas.
Mystery aside, Kisling is grateful.
"We sure appreciate the man that saved it," she said. "It's amazing a letter can come back after all these years."

Air Max 95

The Air Max 95 was based on the human anatomy. With the spine of the shoe resembling the human spine and the original materials to represent skin etc. Although stores were reluctant to stock this shoe because of its high technology and hence high price tag, they took a chance it became the first shoe to be more than £100.00 sold in JD Sports. However they are often replicated and sold on the internet for a small fraction of cost. According to a new police database, the footwear of choice for criminals are Nikes with Nike Air Max 95s being the most popular Daily Mirror. Air Max 95s are also the chosen the

gang. Air Max cushioning has been used in shoes for almost all sports by now including basketball, cross training, golf, casual shoes, sandals, tennis, etc.; however the
Nike Air Max is always a running shoe. An example of a basketball shoe would be Air Max Uptempo.
Air Max 360
On 21 January 2006 Nike launched the Air Max 360. A revolutionary shoe design that utilized Max Airthrough out the shoes midsole. Traditionally, running shoes have used cushioning systems combined. Foam midsoles generally last for about 500 miles before their shock absorbing properties deteriorate. In September of 2006 Nike introduced a special one time only pack which fused the 360 model with three classics. The three shoes used were the Air Max 90, Air Max 95, and Air Max 97. For this special release, the revolutionary design of the 360 sole was used in place of the normal sole of the three classics. The shoes were released in the three original color ways which are red for the Air max 90, green-yellow for the Air Max 95, and grey-silver for the air max 97. Like other Air Max releases, deluxe editions were also produced. These deluxe editions included a new material and a different color way. For this release the deluxe edition uses premium brown chocolate leather. Included in the release of this one time only pack, four clerk designs were also chosen to be used. The use of 360 of air cushioning ensures the shoes longevity. Source: Wikipedia.com
Nike Air Max 1
Nike Air Max is a shoe by Nike that was introduced in 1987 as the first example of Air Max-branded technologies. Designed by Tinker Hatfield, the Nike Air Max shoe uses a large air cushioning unit which is visible at the side of the midsole in most models. Especially sought after models include the 1987 (Air Max I), 1990 (Air Max III), 1991 (Air 180), 1993, 1995, 1997, and to an extent, 2003. The 1993 model was the first to have the fully visible heel Air unit that was visible in the back as well as on the sides, and the 1995 model was the first to feature visible forefoot Air. The 1997 model was the first to include a full length Air bag. The Beatles song Revolution was used in a television commercial to promote the shoe. It was the first and only time that a song performed by the Beatles was used in a TV ad. The cushioned shoe has been a popular clothing item among gabber music fans and the Dutch song Het land van by Lange Frans & Baas B states that Air Max wont ever go out of fashion in the Netherlands. The shoes have always been high tech for their time so runners have always worn them, but they are equally valuable as a casual shoe. They are generally fairly comfortable and the designs and colors are very inspired in some cases. The 1995 model was extremely popular for a long time and saw many colorways introduced. Its popularity has waned but many people still love the shoe. Originally it was met with some skepticism due to its suede construction, high price tag and neon accent color. International collectors quickly came to love the shoe and eventually it became popular in the USA as well. Different types of Air Max cushioning include Air Max2 which doesnt have the holes in the cushioning unit and is of high pressure, Tube Air which is visible in several small circles on the midsole of the shoe, Total Air which is basically just another word for full Air Max cushioning, Tuned Air, which is a system of individual pods supposedly tuned to different areas of the foot. There was also 180 Air in the early 1990s which was visible through the bottom of the shoe (although smaller portions of Air units are visible through the bottom of many Air Max models) and another type of Air cushioning is the low profile and very responsive Zoom Air. Air Max cushioning has been used in shoes for almost all sports by now including basketball, cross training, golf, casual shoes, sandals, tennis, etc; however the Nike Air Max is always a running shoe. An example of a basketball shoe would be Air Max Uptempo. On the 21st January 2006 Nike launched the Air Max 360. A revolutionary shoe design that utilised Max Air through out the shoes midsole. Traditionally, running shoes have used cushioning systems combined with foam midsoles. Foam midsoles generally last for about 500 miles before their shock absorbing properties deteriorate. The use of 360 of air cushioning ensures the shoes longevity. This is the logical conclusion to the Air Max story. Source:SolePedia
Nike Air Max 90
Introduced in 1990 as the Nike Air Max III, the Nike Air Max 90 turned more heads with an even larger visible Air unit and greater stability and cushioning. It has been re-released as a retro version with an immeasurable amount of colorways and themes. The Air Max 90 was referred to as the Air Max or the Air Max III until 2000, when it was reissued. It takes its current name from its launch year, 1990.The first colourway produced was the mens white / black / cool grey / red. It was striking to say the least: the radiant red around the visible Air window exaggerated the thickness of the midsole, and the matching thermoplastic straps and rubber heel patch added to the overall effect. The upper was made of Duromesh, synthetic suede and synthetic leather. The clean lines and dazzling colours made the Air Max a higly sought-after.
In the same year, Nike produced special leather limited edition models in several colourways the all-black leather model is particularly rare and there were some truly amazing versions released in 2002. Nike launched an Escape Air Max 90 and a python-inspired edition. Both of these were in high demand by sneaker collectors. This model is especially favoured in Europe.
Nike Air 180
Released in 1991, the Nike Air 180 upped the ante with its longer tongue and fully visible Air unit. Once again Tinker Hatfield had created a winner. The Air 180 has recently been re-introduced with considerable success. In spring 1991, the Nike Air 180 was released. This revolutionary shoe contained fifty per cent more air than previous Air Max models. Nike went one step further by displaying this technology though a visible protective outsole. This Air 180 was only around for a year, even though Nike supported its launch with a huge TV advertise campaign involving high profile filmmakers and directors.During 1991-92, a variety of colourways were produced. The most desirable colours out there are the original mens colour and the Europe-only womens white / crimson / magenta (pictured). The Olympic Air Force 180 is regarded as the best Air 180 shoe ever.
Nike Air Max 93
Nike went overboard in 1993 with the huge Air unit, fully visible from the back of the shoe. The Air Max 93 still remains a popular member of the Nike Air Max family. The Air Max 93s most talked-about feature was its large 270-degree exposed Nike Air Unit. The Air Sole Unit contained more air and therefore provided greater protection. It was manufactured using a new process called blow moulding, which involved gas being injected through an external tube that forced plastic into a mould. The Air Max 93 was the first to have a coloured Air Unit. Meanwhile, the upper featured a sock-like fit similar to the Air Huarache. The model was reissued in 2003. In the same year, Nike produced an Escaped-influenced edition and Air Mowabb edition, the latter of which was only available in Europe. Numerous colourways have since been launched worldwide.
Nike Air Max 97
The Air unit went full length in 1997. The Air Max 97 offered maximum cushioning and style. This still is one of the most popular Nikes out there, re-issued numerous times around the world. Rumor has it that this shoe was originally going to be called the Air Total Max 3. This ultra modern-looking Air Max was inspired by the high-speed Japanese Bullet train.
The sleek liner design and metallic silver colourway were striking. The full-length visible Air Unit displayed Nikes Air Technology, and the three reflective lines on the top part of the shoe provided a space-age glow, especially in the dark. The 97 was particularly popular in Europe. The original mens colourway has been reissued several times over the years. In 2001, a slip-on version was produced but was frowned upon by the Air Max 97 purists. The coolest colourway was the black / neon yellow / metallic silver, which was released in Japan in 1997.
Nike Air Stab
Originally released in 1988, the Air Stab is one of Nikes best and most classic running styles, with tons of terrific design and serious runners technology, including the Footbridge stability device which keeps feet straight, in place, and securely cushioned, breathable mesh upper with microfiber structuring details and swoosh, heel cap and of course the patented air cushioned sole, with the unique stabbed side window. The Air Stab was re-released in Late 2005 with the release of the extremely limited Foot Patrol Air Stab. This running shoe featured Nikes Footbridge stability device in the midsole. The large Air Stab lettering on the thermoplastic heel counter was there for all to see. Nike stopped making the Air Stab in spring 1990 to the dismay of many fans.
Nike Air Max 2003
Nike continued the full length Air unit with the Air Max 2003, but completely eliminated the polyurethane from the shoe. The Air Max 2003 was the first customizable Air Max to show up on the  website.
Nike Air Max 2009
A new color of the Air Max 2009 hits Foot Locker stores mid-September. The latest Nike running shoe will be available in blk/blu/gry right around the beginning of the school year. Known for its marriage of a flywire upper with full-length air cushioning, the AM 2009 has lived up to the impressive reputation of Air Max models. More shots after the jump.
Nike Air Max 24-7
Our look into the Air Attack series culminates with the Air Max 24/7, Nikes newest Air Max runner. Combining the 2009, 97 and 95, the 24/7 offers a 360 degree Max Air bag and vast material choices for the hyrbid upper. The lone pair to not rely on black for its majority is the Metallic Silver and Volt set, which is constructed with leather and mesh. Perforated black leather cover the mudguard and lower portion of the upper on the colorway that utilizes Varsity Royal in the sole. Lilac and pony hair again team up on a shoe, as do Sprinter Green and black. The final pair uses Metallic Silver canvas to set itself apart.
