If I were a boy again, I would practice perseverance more often, and never give up a thing because it was or inconvenient. If we want light, we must conquer darkness. Perseverance can sometimes equal genius in its results. “There are only two creatures,” syas a proverb, “who can surmount the pyramids—the eagle and the snail.” If I were a boy again, I would school myself into a habit of attention; I would let nothing come between me and the subject in hand. I would remember that a good skater never tries to skate in two directions at once. The habit of attention becomes part of our life, if we begain early enough. I often hear grown up people say “ I could not fix my attention on the sermon or book, although I wished to do so” , and the reason is, the habit was not formed in youth. If I were to live my life over again, I would pay more attention to the cultivation of the memory. I would strengthen that faculty by every possible means, and on every possible occasion. It takes a little hard work at first to remember things accurately; but memory soon helps itself, and gives very little trouble. It only needs early cultivation to become a power.

We too often borrow trouble, and anticipate that may never appear.” The fear of ill exceeds the ill we fear.” Dangers will arise in any career, but presence of mind will often conquer the worst of them. Be prepared for any fate, and there is no harm to be freared. If I were a boy again, I would look on the cheerful side. Life is very much like a mirror: if you smile upon it, I smiles back upon you; but if you frown and look doubtful on it, you will get a similar look in return. Bank robberies in the US take place most often between 9 am and 11 am, on Fridays and in southern and western states, according to the Bank Crime Statistics (BCS) released by the FBI on Tuesday.
There were 5,546 robberies, 74 burglaries, eight larcenies, and 13 extortions of financial institutions. Nearly all of the $43 million haul was cash, and about $8 million was later recovered, the FBI said.
The South led the way with 1,790 bank robberies, followed by the West with 1,691. Among states, California had the most robberies at 805, Texas with 464, then Pennsylvania, Ohio, Florida and Arizona. The least number occurred in North Dakota, where there were two bank robberies. Wyoming had three, while South Dakota and Vermont each had four.
Most robberies took place at bank counters and involved notes demanding money and threats of weapons, the statistics showed. Most of the robberies took place on Fridays and, regardless of the day, most likely between 9 am and 11 am. The number of persons known to be involved in the 5,628 robberies, burglaries, and larcenies was 6,753. The number of white persons was 2936 and black persons 2920.

A Glass of Milk
One day, a poor boy who was trying to pay his way through school by selling goods door to door found that he only had one dime left. He was hungry so he decided to beg for a meal at the next house.
However, he lost his nerve when a lovely young woman opened the door. Instead of a meal he asked for a drink of water. She thought he looked hungry so she brought him a large glass of milk. He drank it slowly, and then asked, "How much do I owe you?"
"You don't owe me anything," she replied. "Mother has taught me never to accept pay for a kindness." He said, "Then I thank you from the bottom of my heart." As Howard Kelly left that house, he not only felt stronger physically, but it also increased his faith in God and the human race. He was about to give up and quit before this point.
Years later the young woman became critically ill. The local doctors were baffled. They finally sent her to the big city, where specialists can be called in to study her rare disease. Dr. Howard Kelly, now famous was called in for the consultation. When he heard the name of the town she came from, a strange light filled his eyes. Immediately, he rose and went down through the hospital hall into her room.
Dressed in his doctor's gown he went in to see her. He recognized her at once. He went back to the consultation room and determined to do his best to save her life. From that day on, he gave special attention to her case.
After a long struggle, the battle was won. Dr. Kelly requested the business office to pass the final bill to him for approval. He looked at it and then wrote something on the side. The bill was sent to her room. She was afraid to open it because she was positive that it would take the rest of her life to pay it off. Finally she looked, and the note on the side of the bill caught her attention. She read these words...

Once upon a time, there was an island where all the feelings lived: Happiness, Sadness, Knowledge, and all of the others, including Love. One day it was announced to the feelings that the island would sink, so all constructed boats and left. Except for Love.
Love was the only one who stayed. Love wanted to hold out until the last possible moment.

Love decided to ask Vanity who was also passing by in a beautiful vessel. "Vanity, please help me!"
"I can't help you, Love. You are all wet and might damage my boat," Vanity answered.
Sadness was close by so Love asked, "Sadness, let me go with you."
"Oh . . . Love, I am so sad that I need to be by myself!"

Father's Day
Sonora Dodd, of Washington, first had the idea of a "father's day." She thought of the idea for Father's Day while listening to a Mother's Day sermon in 1909.
Sonora wanted a special day to honor her father, William Smart. Smart, who was a Civil War veteran, was widowed when his wife died while giving birth to their sixth child. Mr. Smart was left to raise the newborn and his other five children by himself on a rural farm in eastern Washington state.
After Sonora became an adult she realized the selflessness her father had shown in raising his children as a single parent. It was her father that made all the parental sacrifices and was, in the eyes of his daughter, a courageous, selfless, and loving man. Sonora's father was born in June, so she chose to hold the first Father's Day celebration in Spokane, Washington on the 19th of June, 1910.
President Calvin Coolidge, in 1924, supported the idea of a national Father's Day. Then in 1966 President Lyndon Johnson signed a presidential proclamation declaring the 3rd Sunday of June as Father's Day. President Richard Nixon signed the law which finally made it permanent in 1972.

Those who regularly enjoy the hot drink are far less likely to develop oestrogen-receptor negative breast cancer – particularly if they drink five cups or more a day.
These types of tumours do not react to a wide range of drugs, meaning chemotherapy is often the only option.
In the study, experts from the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm found coffee drinkers had a lower incidence of breast cancer than women who rarely drank the beverage.
They analysed data from almost 6,000 women who were past the menopause.
Those women who drank five or more cups a day had a 57 per cent reduced risk of breast cancer compared with those who drank less than one cup a day.
Writing in the journal Breast Cancer Research, the scientists concluded:‘A high daily intake of coffee was found to be associated with a statistically significant decrease in oestrogen-receptor negative breast cancer among post-menopausal women.’
The authors also found a small reduced risk for all types of breast cancer, although this link was not significant when factors such as age and weight were taken into account.
Previous studies have suggested coffee cuts the risk of other cancers, including those targeting the prostate and liver.
However, experts are divided on the benefits of coffee and some studies have shown it could even promote cancer.
Research has suggested coffee may in fact cause cells to proliferate or prevent them from being repaired.
The Karolinska Institute experts said they suspected coffee could contain compounds that affect different types of breast cancer in different ways.
Researchers from the Missouri University found that rats with breast cancer given apigenin, which is found in parsley, celery, apples, oranges and nuts,‘developed fewer tumours and experienced significant delays in tumour formation’ compared with rats with breast cancer who were not.

Most people don’t have goals, and they wonder why nothing good ever happens to them. If you want a fulfilling and passionate life, you have to go after it.
2. Action
When you have your goals in place, you have to start taking massive action. It doesn’t matter if you can’t move in a straight line to your goal, as long as you’re doing something.
For example, if you want to travel around the world, you may still want to do what you’ve always been doing.
For example, if you’re working in a job you don’t absolutely love, you should still give it your all, because new opportunities will show up as you gain momentum.
3. Intuition
A crucial step is to listen to your intuition. So often we shut off our sixth sense. It often knows where we should go and what we should do.
When you set goals, your subconscious mind automatically starts looking for ways to make your dreams and goals a reality.
Your intuition and heart will also help guide you into places where there are opportunities. You may meet someone, read a book, or get an e-mail.
It’s impossible to predict what the universe will bring to your door once you set goals, start taking action, and are determined to succeed.
4. Fears
Every successful person has faced many fears, made many mistakes, and wanted to throw in the towel countless times.
You don’t have to be fearless to live a passionate life, you just have to train your courage muscle and face your fears head on.
I’ve been afraid from time to time ever since I started forging my own path and creating the life that I now enjoy.

Get interested in personal development, learn how to set goals, become more productive, listen to your intuition, and use visualization in your life.
I’ve been on the path of personal growth for almost a decade despite my young age. It has made a tremendous difference in how I work, why and, in what my aspirations are.
I still face fears, negative beliefs, and negative thoughts, but I take it one step at a time and do my best.
7. Passion
One of the biggest leaps you can take in your life is to discover your passion and go after it.
It took me several years to muster up the courage to go after my own passion, which is writing and helping people create the life of their dreams.

The Swiss Evangelical People's Party, which had supported the bans, said it regretted the outcome but was pleased it had prompted so much discussion.
The Swiss government has said it is looking to change the law on assisted suicide to make sure it was used only as a last resort by the terminally ill, and to limit "suicide tourism."
Right-to-die group Exit has agreed rules to govern assisted suicide with prosecutors in Zurich in the hope they might eventually form the basis of national regulation.
